Legend of the Seas, from our sailing
We sailed her second-ever trip and filmed everything. This is what I'd tell a friend before they board. Policies and prices are from our sailing and can change.
Do this on day one
Book the shows in the app
Shockwave and the FUSION ice show are included, but seats go fast. Wait until day two or three and you may be out of luck.
Book specialty dinners
Chops Grille and Giovanni's fill up. On our sailing, specialty restaurants only did lunch on sea days.
Set up the cabin
Outlet cube in, magnetic hooks up, balcony door closed (an open door shuts off the AC).
Shows
Missed the reservation? We were told you can usually still go and stand.
Where to eat
- Chops Grille
- Get the pretzel rolls. The 32oz Tomahawk was a $45 upcharge on our sailing, a steal compared to a steakhouse on land.
- Giovanni's
- Good, but the pizza wasn't crispy enough and the meatballs were a 5.5 to 6.5. Better for a sea-day lunch than a big night.
- Sorrento's
- Free pizza, open late (until 3am on our sailing), and crispier than the paid pizza. The late-night move.
- Windjammer
- The buffet. Fresher fruit than room service, and the better hot dog if you want one.
- My drink
- Blackberry lemon drop martini.
Room service, rated
We ordered 13 items for two people. There's a delivery fee per order and sodas cost extra. It took about 30 minutes.
The balcony cabin
Clean and brand new, but plainer than I expected. I gave it a 7/10.
- Outlets
- Two US outlets outside the bathroom, plus a USB port on a shelf. Bring the outlet cube.
- Bathroom
- There's a step up. Mind your toes. The shower is an odd trapezoid shape, with a handheld head and a rain head.
- Balcony door
- Open it and the AC stops. The mirror fogs up in seconds.
- Closet
- Small. Heavy packers, bring packing cubes and an over-door organizer.
- TV
- Smaller than the wall has room for.
Let me plan it
Cabin, dining and shows, from someone who's sailed her. And grab the packing list before you go.
